U10 Step 1 and 2 In-House Ringette - 2025/26 Season

 Edmonton Ringette is excited to announce that our U10 Step 1 and U10 Step 2 programs will be moving in-house for the 2025/26 season.

 What does this mean?

Instead of participating in the Black Gold League for regular season play, Edmonton Ringette Step 1 and Step 2 teams will follow a four-week rotation:

• Weeks 1-3: Practices focused on skill development and team play.
  
  
• Week 4: A jamboree-style weekend of games (2-3 games)
  
  

During jamborees, teams will play other Edmonton U10 Step teams as well as other local Step 1 and Step 2 teams who are also not in Black Gold League play.

 Benefits of the In-House Model

• More practice time - Greater focus on skills, teamwork, and player development.
  
  
• Predictable schedule - The rotating format makes planning easier for families.
  
  
• Reduced travel - No regular season games outside the Greater Edmonton Area.
  
  
• Full-ice gameplay for Step 2 - After Christmas, Step 2 teams will transition to full-ice games to further develop game awareness and strategy.
  
  
• Referee development - First Stripes referees will officiate jamboree games starting with the first event, creating a fuller game experience for players and helping new referees gain confidence and skills.
  
  

 Additional Details

• Teams may still enter tournaments.
  
  
• Teams will participate in the January Silver Ring Jamboree (Jan 16-18,  2026).

  Schedule

The Step 1 and Step 2 ice schedule will follow a 4-week rotation.

Once teams are finalized, coaches will create team accounts on TeamSnap or TeamLinkt and upload the full schedule. This ensures players and families always know when practices and games are happening throughout the season. The only exceptions to this schedule will be any tournaments the team participates in and their assigned times for the Silver Ring Jamboree.
