Player Advisory Council

What is the Player Advisory Council?

The Player Advisory Council (PAC) acts as an advisor to the Edmonton Ringette Board of Directors in the implementation of inclusion practices and policies as it pertains to athletes.  The Council reports to the Board of Directors via the Inclusion Director and does not have independent decision-making authority. The Edmonton Ringette Board of Directors provides support through administration, marketing and deliverables as requested by the Council.

What does the PAC do?

The PAC will:

  • Bring Ringette Athletes’ concerns to the attention of the Inclusion Director and Board
  • Ask Ringette Athletes what their concerns/opinions are on topics such as inclusion (including 2SLGBTQ+, Financial, Ethnic and Disability inclusion)
  • Work with the Inclusion Director to create an annual report for the Association Members at the Edmonton Ringette Annual General Meeting

Council Members will serve one-year terms with the possibility of this being extended to two-year terms once the Council becomes more established.  The first meeting will be held virtually in Summer 2022.  Meetings will be held every two months with the option to schedule meetings in between as required.

To be a member, individuals must:

A minimum of 5 members and maximum of 9, will be appointed to the Council.  Should there be more than 9 interested players who submit applications, the Inclusion Director will evaluate the applicants and appoint members.

Questions or comments regarding the PAC can be directed to Edmonton Ringette’s Inclusion Director at
